Mid Day Market Commentary

The market has now moved up a bit and is trading higher with marginal gains as some buying is seen in the selective scrips. The overall market breadth is negative as 1137 stocks are advancing while 1181 stocks are declining and 92 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

At 12.30 pm, BSE sensex was at 14,504.37 up by 8.60 points and Nifty was at 4,275.40 up by 8.35 points. The BSE mid cap is lower by 0.31 points at 6,233.27 while small cap advanced by 20.84 points to 7,487.61.

BSE Metal index inclined 29.86 points to trade at 10,664.03 as Tata Steel (1.08%), Hindalco (0.82%), NALCO (0.80%) and SAIL (0.32%) are trading higher.

BSE IT index advanced 15.76 points to trade at 4,862.26 as Wipro (1%), Infosys (0.77%), TCS (0.46%) and Satyam (0.18%) are trading in green.

BSE Banks index advanced 14.64 points to trade at 7,756.20 as PNB Bank (0.86%), ICICI Bank (0.71%) and SBI (0.39%) are trading higher.

BSE Auto index advanced 12.81 points to trade at 4,961.18 as Tata Motors (0.87%), Bajaj Auto (0.52%) and M&M (0.42%) are trading in positive while Hero Honda (0.08%) and Maruti Udyog (0.07%) are trading in negative.

BSE FMCG index declined 16.98 points to trade at 1,876.93 as ITC (1.43%) is trading in red while HLL (0.82%) and Dabur (0.40%) are trading in green.

BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 7.35 points down at 7,683.79 as BPCL (1.81%), HPCL (1.72%), IPCL (0.94%) and ONGC (0.23%) are trading in red.

BSE Capital goods index declined 3.93 points to 11,198.94 as L&T (0.87%) and Siemens (0.67%) are trading in red while BHEL (1.36%) and ABB (0.30%) are trading in green.

BSE Health Care index slipped 2.63 points to trade at 3,837.96 as GSK (1.4%) and Cipla (0.02%) are trading in negative while Sun Pharma (2.02%) and Ranbaxy (0.14%) are trading in positive.
