Mid Day market Commentary

The BSE Sensex is trading in the negative territory after paring the session''s gain. The selling continued in the index pivotal led by banking and auto sector. The overall market breadth is positive as 1162 stocks are advancing while 1093 stocks are declining and 74 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

At 12.32 pm, BSE sensex was at 14,242.45 down by 13.48 points and Nifty was at 4,196.55 down by 1.7 points. The BSE mid cap is lower by 1.49 points at 6,180.42 while small cap advanced by 1.65 points to 7,391.41.

BSE Capital goods index inclined 25.71 points to 11,006.72 as BHEL (0.64%) and L&T (0.26%) are trading in green while Siemens (1.08%) and ABB (0.42%) are trading in red.

BSE IT index advanced 78.83 points to trade at 4,951.47 as Satyam (3.14%), HCL (2.09%), Wipro (1.77%), Infosys (1.53%) and TCS (0.80%) are trading in green.

BSE Metal index inclined 36.65 points to trade at 10,451.12 as Hindalco (2.52%), NALCO (1.32%) and Tata Steel (0.30%) are trading higher while SAIL (1.59%) is trading lower.

BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 9.16 points up at 7,477.69 as HPCL (0.56%), RPL (0.41%), BPCL (0.31%) and IPCL (0.16%) are trading in green.

BSE Health Care index grew 3.67 points to trade at 3,789.08 as Cipla (1.03%) is trading in positive while Sun Pharma (0.91%), Ranbaxy (0.51%) and Dr. Reddy (0.08%) are trading in negative.

BSE Auto index dropped 13.71 points to trade at 4,854.73 as Hero Honda (2.77%), Tata Motors (0.89%), Bajaj Auto (0.71%) and M&M (0.09%) are trading in negative.

BSE FMCG index declined 12.17 points to trade at 1,830.03 as Dabur (2.13%), HLL (1.43%) and ITC (0.92%) are trading in red.

BSE Banks index slipped 11.29 points to trade at 7,583.56 as PNB (0.68%), HDFC Bank (0.59%) and SBI (0.40%) are trading lower while ICICI Bank (0.31%) is trading higher.
