Mid Day Market Commentary

The market is trading firm and is enjoying at higher level as some buying continued in the selective index pivotal. The market that was waiting for the mega IPO of DLF has finally opened for subscription today. The reports came out that the company has received good response. The overall market breadth is strong as 1504 stocks are advancing while 773 stocks are declining and 76 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

At 12.32 pm, BSE sensex was at 14,223.12 up by 159.31 points and Nifty was at 4,191.45 up by 46.45 points. The BSE mid cap is higher by 43.72 points at 6,199.94 and small cap advanced by 65.62 points to 7,408.21.

BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 87.71 points up at 7,459.76 as HPCL (3.73%), BPCL (2.93%), GAIL (2.27%), IPCL (0.88%) and ONGC (0.66%) are trading in green.

BSE IT index advanced 78.11 points to trade at 5,064.92 as Satyam (2.73%), HCL (2.26%), Infosys (1.87%), Wipro (0.91%) and TCS (0.89%) are trading higher.

BSE Capital goods index surged 69.24 points to 10,910.61 as BHEL (1.06%), L&T (0.68%) and Siemens (0.13%) are trading in green.

BSE Banks index is trading higher 40.23 points to trade at 7,481.48 as HDFC Bank (2.56%), SBI (0.40%) and ICICI Bank (0.34%) are trading higher while PNB (0.32%) is trading lower.

BSE Health Care index grew 34.50 points to trade at 3,775.65 as Cipla (1.49%), Ranbaxy (1.24%), GSK (0.89%), Dr. Reddy (0.70%) and Sun Pharma (0.30%) are trading in positive.

BSE FMCG index advanced 29.99 points to trade at 1,809.09 as ITC (3.32%), HLL (1.03%) and Dabur (0.71%) are trading in green.

BSE Metal index inclined 29.21 points to trade at 10,271.93 as Hindalco (2.28%), SAIL (1.64%) and Tata steel (0.08%) are trading higher while NALCO (0.33%) is trading lower.

BSE Auto index inclined 14.83 points to trade at 4,715.54 as Hero Honda (1.52%), Tata Motors (0.20%), Bajaj Auto (0.20%) and M&M (0.18%) are trading in positive while Maruti Udyog (0.58%) is trading in negative.
