Mid Day Market commentary

The market is trading in the flat. The IT scrips are facing the selling tune on the back of strong rupee. The overall market breadth is positive as 1169 stocks are advancing while 1156 stocks are declining and 84 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

At 12.30 pm, BSE sensex was at 14,094.67 up by 14.53 points and Nifty was at 4,153.35 up by 6.25 points. The BSE mid cap is higher by 15.38 points at 6,188.25 and small cap advanced by 18.39 points to 7,335.07.

BSE Capital goods index surged 100.29 points to 11,204.53 as L&T (1.62%), BHEL (0.95%) and ABB (0.49%) are trading in green.

BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 77.24 points up at 7,510.07 as RPL (1.79%), GAIL (1.62%), ONGC (1.29%) and IPCL (0.85%) are trading higher while BPCL (1.68%) and HPCL (1.46%) are trading lower.

BSE Banks index is trading higher 50.51 points to trade at 7,529.66 as ICICI Bank (1.01%), HDFC Bank (0.81%), SBI (0.80%) and PNB (0.41%) are trading higher.

BSE Metal index grew 38.80 points to trade at 10,462.40 as Tata Steel (1.26%), NALCO (0.30%) and SAIL (0.15%) are trading in positive.

BSE Auto index inclined 11.84 points to trade at 4,645.81 as Tata Motors (1.34%), M&M (0.88%) and Hero Honda (0.48%) are trading in positive while Bajaj Auto (0.67%) and Maruti Udyog (0.43%) are trading in negative.

BSE FMCG index inclined 8.04 points to trade at 1,797.13 as HLL (0.67%) and ITC (0.07%) are trading in green while Dabur (0.30%) is trading in red.

BSE Health Care index grew 7.47 points to trade at 3,782.46 as GSK (0.58%), Dr. Reddy (0.54%) and Sun Pharma (0.40%) are trading in positive.

BSE IT index declined 66.19 points to trade at 4,874.42 as Infosys (1.73%), Satyam (1.45%), Wipro (1.41%), TCS (1%) and HCL Tech. (0.58%) are trading in negative.
