Mid Day Market Commentary

The market is now trading flat and has pared some gains as profit booking emerged at the higher level. The overall market breadth is positive as 1326 stocks are advancing while 1027 stocks are declining and 83 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

At 12.31 pm, BSE sensex was at 14,456.57 up by 44.62 points while Nifty was at 4,245.70 down by 2.95 points. The BSE mid cap is higher by 22.12 points at 6,362.14 and small cap advanced by 64.47 points to 7,484.91.

BSE Capital goods index surged 324.87 points to 11,824.78 as L&T (5.97%), BHEL (2.88%), ABB (1.35%) and Siemens (1.05%) are trading in green.

BSE Metal index grew 60.25 points to trade at 10,785.21 as SAIL (0.74%), Tata Steel (0.66%) and NALCO (0.39%) are trading in positive.

BSE Auto index inclined 48.99 points to trade at 4,811.05 as M&M (2.52%), Tata Motors (0.87%) and Bajaj Auto (0.18%) are trading in green whereas Maruti Udyog (0.39%) and Hero Honda (0.30%) are trading in red.

BSE Banks index is trading higher 23.20 points to trade at 7,813.47 as PNB (1.36%), HDFC Bank (0.73%) and ICICI Bank (0.21%) are trading in positive.

BSE Health Care index grew 20.07 points to trade at 3,823.41 as Ranbaxy (1.13%) and Dr. Reddy (0.47%) are trading in positive whereas Sun Pharma (1.33%), Cipla (0.48%) and GSK (0.32%) are trading in negative.

BSE IT index advanced 8.71 points to trade at 4,896 as Infosys (0.26%) is trading higher while Satyam (0.85%) and Wipro (0.38%) are trading lower.

BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 7.29 points down at 7,645.08 as ONGC (1.73%), GAIL (1.01%) and BPCL (0.30%) are trading lower while HPCL (1.14%) and IPCL (0.29%) are trading higher.

BSE FMCG index inclined 5.41 points to trade at 1,817.31 as HLL (0.53%) is trading in green while Dabur (1.94%) and ITC (0.65%) are trading in red.
