Mid Day Market commentary

The market is now trading flat as some profit booking continued in the selective scrips. The overall market breadth is positive as 1331 stocks are advancing while 1005 stocks are declining and 67 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

At 12.31 pm, BSE sensex was at 14,503.72 up by 4.48 points while Nifty was at 4,260.45 down by 6.95 points. The BSE mid cap is higher by 23.47 points at 6,397.23 and small cap advanced by 37.72 points to 7,534.20.

BSE Banks index is trading higher 76.01 points to trade at 7,903.91 as SBI (0.83%), HDFC Bank (0.82%) and ICICI Bank (0.42%) are trading in positive.

BSE Capital goods index inclined 45.23 points to 11,781.99 as ABB (0.28%), L&T (0.19%) and Siemens (0.15%) are trading in green where as BHEL (1.08%) is trading in red.

BSE Metal index grew 23.93 points to trade at 10,843.99 as Hindalco (0.60%) is trading in positive whereas SAIL (0.74%), Tata Steel (0.49%) and NALCO (0.38%) are trading in negative.

BSE Health Care index grew 21.02 points to trade at 3,831.19 as Cipla (0.95%) and Dr. Reddy (0.46%) are trading in positive whereas GSK (0.86%) and Sun Pharma (0.58%) are trading in negative.

BSE Auto index inclined 13.17 points to trade at 4,809.24 as Bajaj Auto (0.28%), Hero Honda (0.15%) and M&M (0.14%) are trading in green whereas Tata Motors (1.02%) and Maruti Udyog (0.66%) are trading in red.

BSE FMCG index inclined 5.63 points to trade at 1,823.27 as Dabur (2%), HLL (0.92%) and ITC (0.16%) are trading in green.

BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 25.24 points down at 7,643.05 as IPCL (0.57%) is trading lower while GAIL (2.71%), BPCL (1.73%), HPCL (0.73%) and ONGC (0.55%) are trading higher.

BSE IT index fell 2.12 points to trade at 4,884.73 as HCL Tech. (0.90%), Wipro (0.76%), Satyam (0.43%) and Infosys (0.15%) are trading lower.
