Mid Day Market Commentary

Market is trading on negative territory on the back of selling of scrips across the selective indices pivotal. Overall market breadth was negative as 1,398 stocks declined and 1,060 stocks advanced on BSE.

At 12.36 pm, BSE sensex was trading flat at 14,804.62 while Nifty was trading at 4,342.80 down by 14.75 points. BSE Mid cap and BSE small cap was trading lower by 23.66 points and 1.63 points at 6,625.34 and 7,844.50.

BSE capital goods index decreased by 46.29 points to trade at 12,490.62 as ABB ltd (1.24%), BHEL (0.97%) and L&T (0.09%) are trading in red.

BSE IT index dropped by 24.40 points to trade at 4,854.72 as HCL Tech (1.19%), Wipro (0.97%), Satyam (0.42%) and Infosys (0.41%) are trading lower.

BSE auto index was up by 25.08 points to trade at 4,828.39 as Tata Motors advanced by (1.6%) followed by Mahindra and Mahindra (1.49%), Bajaj Auto (0.52%) and Maruti Udyog (0.51%) are trading lower.

BSE Banks index was down by 59.39 points to trade at 8,081.31 as PNB (1.29%), SBI (1.07%), HDFC bank (0.61%), ICICI bank (0.52%) and HDFC (0.25%) are trading in negative.

BSE Oil & gas index is trading higher by 21.71 points at 7,658.22 as Reliance industries (0.94%) and IPCL (0.88%) are trading in green while ONGC (1.58%), HPCL (0.75%), GAIL (0.65%) and BPCL (0.59%) are trading in red.

BSE FMCG index is trading up by 7.96 points to trade at 1,856.32 as ITC (0.64%) and HUL (0.51%) are trading higher.

BSE Metal index increased by 43.16 points to trade at 10,703.38 as Tata Steel (0.67%) is trading in green while Sterlite industries (1.65%) and Hindalco industries (1.27%) are trading in red.

BSE Health Care index decreased by 1.54 points to trade at 3,854.41 as Dr.Reddy (0.9%), Ranbaxy labs (0.82%) and Sun pharma (0.78%) are trading in red.
