Mid Day Market Commentary

The market is now trading in positive territory on the back of sustained buying interest seen in the selective scrips. The overall market breadth is positive as 1551 stocks are advancing while 962 stocks are declining and 65 stocks remains unchanged on BSE.

At 12.31 pm, BSE sensex was at 15,317.11 up by 44.39 points while Nifty was at 4,517.40 up by 12.85 points. The BSE mid cap is higher by 48.92 points at 6,844.22 and small cap advanced by 97.18 points to 8,313.32.

BSE Metal index improved 215.14 points to trade at 12,216.04 as NALCO (4.86%), SAIL (2.5%), Hindalco (2.3%) and Tata Steel (1.44%) are trading in positive.

BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 58.87 points up at 7,878.54 as ONGC (1.66%), GAIL (1.57%) and IPCL (0.28%) are trading in positive whereas BPCL (0.89%) is trading in negative.

BSE Auto index increased 31.37 points to trade at 5,089.82 as Bajaj Auto (1.24%) is trading in green while Tata Motors (0.52%), Hero Honda (0.29%), M&M (0.12%) and Maruti Udyog (0.12%) are trading in red.

BSE Banks index is trading up by 31.06 points to trade at 8,312.81 as PNB (1.27%) and SBI (0.19%) are trading in positive whereas HDFC Bank (1.88%) and ICICI Bank (0.10%) are trading in negative.

BSE Capital goods index surged 18.38 points to 13,077.56 as L&T (0.54%) is trading in positive while Siemens (2.03%) and BHEL (0.65%) are trading in negative.

BSE IT index dropped 33.03 points to trade at 4,864.92 as Satyam (2.23%), HCL Tech. (2.09%), Wipro (1.95%) and TCS (1.41%) are trading in red.

BSE Health Care index dropped 12.77 points to trade at 3,835.88 as Sun Pharma (1.77%), Dr. Reddy (1.34%), Cipla (0.94%) and Ranbaxy (0.57%) are trading in negative.

BSE FMCG index decreased 8.83 points to trade at 1,855.35 as ITC (0.65%) and HUL (0.50%) are trading in negative.
