Mid Day Market Commentary

The market is now trading at higher level and remains rage bound on account of sustained buying interest seen in the selective scrips. The overall market breadth is positive as 1435 stocks are advancing while 1028 stocks are declining and 91 stocks remains unchanged on BSE.

At 12.31 pm, BSE sensex was at 15,311.22 up by 95.13 points while Nifty was at 4,537.10 up by 24.95 points. The BSE mid cap is higher by 55.72 points at 6,890.27 and small cap advanced by 47.80 points to 8,328.38.

BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 117.16 points up at 7,986.93 as IPCL (2.27%), GAIL (1.23%), RPL (0.87%), BPCL (0.60%) and ONGC (0.33%) are trading in positive.

BSE Banks index is trading up by 70.67 points to trade at 8,457.32 as ICICI Bank (1.54%), PNB (0.87%) and SBI (0.06%) are trading in positive whereas HDFC Bank (1.40%) is trading in negative.

BSE IT index surged 54.80 points to trade at 4,903.07 as TCS (3.01%), HCL Tech. (2.75%), Satyam (2.07%), Infosys (0.52%) and Wipro (0.20%) are trading in green.

BSE Health Care index improved 38.42 points to trade at 3,853.22 as Ranbaxy (1.16%), Dr. Reddy (0.76%), Cipla (0.48%) and Sun Pharma (0.40%) are trading in positive.

BSE Capital goods index increased 13.81 points to 13,020.82 as L&T (0.50%) is trading in positive while Siemens (4.81%), ABB (0.81%) and BHEL (0.06%) are trading in negative.

BSE FMCG index increased 12.95 points to trade at 1,858.98 as ITC (1.30%), Dabur (0.98%) and HUL (0.51%) are trading in green.

BSE Metal index improved 7.47 points to trade at 12,098.45 as NALCO (1.67%) and SAIL (1.27%) are trading in positive while Tata Steel (0.14%) is trading in negative.

BSE Auto index decreased 4.55 points to trade at 5,076.24 as M&M (1.82%), Tata Motors (0.53%) and Bajaj Auto (0.49%) are trading in green while Hero Honda (1.31%) and Maruti Udyog (0.48%) are trading in red.
