Mid-Market Commentary

The market is trading at higher level on account of strong buying continued in the selective scrips led by Capital Goods, Metal and Oil & Gas sector. The overall market breadth is positive as 1581 stocks are advancing while 836 stocks are declining and 73 stocks remains unchanged on BSE.

At 12.31 pm, BSE sensex was at 15,470.88 up by 169.71 points while Nifty was at 4,542 up by 42.45 points. The BSE mid cap is higher by 45.25 points at 6,821.44 and small cap advanced by 96.40 points to 8,280.51.

BSE Capital goods index increased 252.04 points to 12,927.17 as L&T (2.40%), BHEL (1.90%), Siemens (1.66%) and ABB (0.56%) are trading in positive.

BSE Metal index surged 140.85 points to trade at 12,089.29 as Hindalco (1.62%), SAIL (0.65%) and Tata Steel (0.29%) are trading in positive.

BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 123.19 points higher at 8,060.34 as IPCL (1.66%), RPL (0.88%), BPCL (0.60%) and ONGC (0.22%) are trading in positive.

BSE IT index improved 59.92 points to trade at 4,945.25 as Infosys (1.90%), TCS (0.69%) and Satyam (0.41%) are trading in green whereas HCL Tech. (0.90%) and Wipro (0.20%) are trading in red.

BSE Banks index is trading up by 48.84 points to trade at 8,420.75 as PNB (2.31%) and SBI (1.52%) are trading in positive whereas HDFC Bank (1.17%) and ICICI Bank (0.10%) are trading in negative.

BSE Auto index increased 24.95 points to trade at 5,076.85 as Bajaj Auto (2.41%), Tata Motors (2.15%) and Maruti Udyog (0.37%) are trading in green while Hero Honda (2.36%) and M&M (1.73%) are trading in red.

BSE FMCG index increased 4.15 points to trade at 1,839.81 as Dabur (2%) and ITC (0.03%) are trading in green whereas HUL (0.96%) is trading in red.

BSE Health Care index increased 31.11 points to trade at 3,856.66 as Ranbaxy (1.73%) is trading in positive while Sun Pharma (1.10%) and GSK (0.79%) are trading in negative.
