Post Session Market Commentary

The BSE Sensex ended the session on a positive inspiring note as it grew by 248.96 points to close at 15,550.13 while Nifty increased by 62.55 points to close at 4562.10. Of the 2,677 stocks actively traded on BSE, 1,504 stocks advanced while 1,102 stocks declined. The BSE Mid cap and Small cap closed higher by 51.55 points and 74.41 points at 6,827.74 and 8,258.52 respectively.

BSE Auto Index increased by 95.68 points to close at 5,147.58 as Tata Motors (4.70%), Bajaj Auto (4.35%), M&M (1.32%) and Maruti Udyog (0.86%) closed higher while Hero Honda (3.47%) closed lower.

BSE Capital goods index grew by 201.05 points to close at 12,876.18 as Praj industries (3.55%), BEML (3.12%), L&T (2.02%), Siemens (1.78%), BHEL (1.25%) and ABB (0.32%) closed in green.

BSE bankex index closed up by 82.06 points at 8,453.97 as PNB (3.61%), HDFC bank (1.50%), SBI (1.31%), ICICI bank (0.72%), Union Bank (0.47%) and Canara bank (0.41%) closed in positive.

BSE Metal index increased by 84.54 points to close at 12,032.98 as Jindal steel (5.11%), Jindal Saw (2.61%), Sterlite industries (2%), Hindalco (0.90%) and SAIL (0.84%) closed in green while Nalco (2.65%) closed in red.

BSE IT index advanced by 70.97 points to close at 4,956.31 as Infosys (2.56%), Satyam (1.04%), TCS (0.59%) and Wipro (0.19%) closed higher while HCL tech (1.50%) closed lower.

BSE Health Care Index grew by 15.30 points to close at 3,840.85 as Ranbaxy (1.36%) and Dr Reddy (0.22%) closed in positive while Sun pharma (1.62%), Cipla (0.41%) and Glaxosmithkline (0.36%) closed in negative.

BSE FMCG index advanced by 5.83 points at 1,841.49 as Dabur (1.54%) and ITC (0.20%) closed higher while Tata tea (0.70%) and HUL (0.55%) closed lower.

BSE oil & gas index grew by 231.20 points to close at 8,168.35 as Reliance industries (4.20%), IPCL (3.48%) and GAIL (1.98%), ONGC (0.40%) and BPCL (0.23%) closed in higher while HPCL (0.12%) closed in negative.
