Mid Market Commentary

The market is now trading lower due to the profit booking continued in the selective scrips led by Capital Goods, Metal and Auto stocks. The mid cap and small cap are also facing the selling tune. The overall market breadth is negative as 824 stocks are advancing while 1607 stocks are declining and 62 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

At 12.31 pm, BSE sensex was at 15,687.07 down by 107.85 points while Nifty was at 4,582.20 down by 38.55 points. The BSE mid cap is lower by 57.16 points at 6,755.18 and small cap dropped by 74.01 points to 8,079.62.

BSE FMCG index increased 67.19 points to trade at 1,910.49 as ITC (8.11%), HUL (1.23%) and Dabur (0.60%) are trading in green.

BSE Capital goods index dropped 227 points to 13,540.13 as L&T (2.17%), BHEL (1.86%), ABB (1.48%) and Siemens (0.22%) are trading in negative.

BSE Metal index slipped 81.82 points to trade at 12,287.80 as SAIL (1.86%), Tata Steel (0.83%), NALCO (0.69%) and Hindalco Industries (0.53%) are trading in red.

BSE Auto index decreased 71.11 points to trade at 5,054.40 as Bajaj (2.78%), Tata Motors (1.34%), M&M (0.88%), Hero Honda (0.86%) and Maruti Udyog (0.24%) are trading in red.

BSE Banks index is trading down by 28.94 points to trade at 8,327.51 as HDFC Bank (1.12%), SBI (0.38%) and ICICI Bank (0.31%) are trading in negative.

BSE Health Care index dropped 24.81 points to trade at 3,753.40 as Cipla (1.06%), Dr. Reddy (0.74%) and Ranbaxy (0.29%) are trading in negative.

BSE IT index decreased 14.61 points to trade at 4,948.81 as Satyam (3.28%), HCL Tech. (1.90%), TCS (1.28%) and Wipro (0.99%) are trading in red.

BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 8.26 points lower at 8,198.82 as GAIL (1.19%) and IPCL (0.79%) are trading in negative while BPCL (1.61%), HPCL (1.18%) and ONGC (0.87%) are trading in positive.
