Mid Market Commentary

The market has lost further momentum and slipped more to trade in the negative territory. The broad based selling continued across the board. The Metal, Capital Goods Realty and Banking are the most hitted sector. The overall market breadth is negative as 505 stocks are advancing while 1947 stocks are declining and 45 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

At 12.31 pm, BSE sensex was at 15,236.64 down by 539.67 points while Nifty was at 4,441.95 down by 177.85 points. The BSE mid cap is lower by 218.66 points at 6,571.84 and small cap slipped by 269.84 points to 7,876.02.

BSE Metal index decreased 560.75 points to trade at 11,578.96 as NALCO (5.78%), Tata Steel (5.54%), Hindalco (4.92%) and SAIL (4.49%) are trading in red.

BSE Capital goods index dropped 552.59 points to 12,694.44 as BHEL (6.26%), L&T (5.42%), ABB (3.80%) and Siemens (2.99%) are trading in negative.

BSE Banks index is trading down by 280.31 points to trade at 7,905.21 as SBI (4.83%), HDFC Bank (4.77%), PNB (4.76%) and ICICI Bank (3.49%) are trading in negative.

BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 197.56 points higher at 8,127.63 as ONGC (3.69%), IPCL (2.86%), GAIL (2.66%), HPCL (2.65%) and RPL (2.63%) are trading in negative.

BSE Auto index decreased 140.22 points to trade at 4,956.22 as Tata Motors (3.69%), Bajaj Auto (3.52%), Hero Honda (3.35%) and M&M (2.74%) are trading in red.

BSE IT index decreased 105.81 points to trade at 4,895.43 as HCL (4.26%), Satyam (3.43%), Wipro (2.72%), TCS (1.93%) and Infosys (1.43%) are trading in red.

BSE Health Care index dropped 83.28 points to trade at 3,705.08 as Cipla (2.58%), Dr. Reddy (2.40%), Sun Pharma (2.39%) and GSK (2.04%) are trading in negative.

BSE FMCG index slipped 29.56 points to trade at 1,900.52 as HUL (5.34%), Dabur (3.81%) and ITC (1.19%) are trading in red.
