Mid Market Commentary

The market has gained further momentum to trade in the positive territory as the selective buying of scrips continued in the market. The overall market breadth is positive as 1430 stocks are advancing while 944 stocks are declining and 59 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

At 12.31 pm, BSE sensex was at 15,349.94 up by 115.37 points while Nifty was at 4,469.10 up by 23.9 points. The BSE mid cap is higher by 41.91 points at 6,640.23 and small cap advanced by 59.67 points to 7,986.12.

BSE Banks index is trading up by 134.66 points to trade at 8,054.85 as SBI (4.8%), PNB (2.0%), HDFC Bank (1.71%) and ICICI Bank (1.31%) are trading in positive.

BSE Capital goods index increased 57.15 points to 12,805.92 as L&T (1.98%) is trading in positive whereas ABB (0.93%), Siemens (0.47%) and BHEL (0.12%) are trading in negative.

BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 26.87 points higher at 8,042.62 as BPCL (0.64%), GAIL (0.61%), HPCL (0.39%), IPCL (0.27%) and ONGC (0.11%) are trading in positive.

BSE FMCG index improved 21.93 points to trade at 1,949.79 as HUL (5.61%) and Dabur (0.99%) are trading in green while ITC (168%) are trading in red.

BSE Auto index increased 3.23 points to trade at 4,946.73 as Maruti Udyog (1.2%) and Tata Motors (0.43%) are trading in green whereas M&M (1.92%), Hero Honda (1.17%) and Bajaj Auto (0.22%) are trading in red.

BSE Health Care index grew 2.68 points to trade at 3,694.04 as Cipla (1.06%) and Ranbaxy (0.80%) are trading higher while Sun Pharma (0.96%), Dr. Reddy (0.78%) and GSK (0.26%) are trading lower.

BSE IT index decreased 29.15 points to trade at 4,847.19 as Infosys (1.2%), TCS (0.78%), HCL Tech. (0.64%) and Wipro (0.61%) are trading in red.

BSE Metal index decreased 6.01 points to trade at 11,495.51 as NALCO (2.82%), Hindalco Industries (1.73%) and SAIL (0.68%) are trading in red whereas Tata Steel (1.07%) is trading in green.
