Post Session Market Commentary

The BSE Sensex ended the session on a positive note as it grew marginally by 11.35 points to close at 15,301.17 while Nifty increased by 2.8 points to close at 4499.55. Of the 2705 stocks actively traded on BSE, 1480 stocks declined while 1151 stocks advanced. The BSE Mid cap and Small cap closed lower by 13.38 points and 23.66 points at 6776.19 and 8184.11 respectively.

BSE Auto Index increased by 33.97 points to close at 5,051.90 as Hero Honda (3.03%) and Bajaj Auto (2.85%) closed higher

BSE Capital goods index slipped by 127.75 points to close at 12,675.13 as Praj industries (48.70%), L&T (2.63%), Siemens (1.29%) and ABB (1.19%) closed in red while BHEL (0.51%) and BEML (0.15%) closed in green.

BSE bankex index grew by 20.09 points to close at 8,371.91 as Andhra bank (1.06%), ICICI bank (0.81%) and Allahabad bank (0.64%) closed in positive while PNB (1.67%), Union Bank (0.93%), Canara bank (0.89%), HDFC bank (0.46%) and SBI (0.31%) closed in negative.

BSE Metal index increased by 80 points to close at 11,948.44 as Hindalco (3.22%), Sterlite industries (2.03%), Jindal Saw (0.52%), SAIL (0.39%) and Tata Steel (0.32%) closed in green while Hind Zinc (1.50%), Jindal steel (0.75%) and Nalco (0.27%) closed in red.

BSE IT index closed up by 5.50 points at 4,885.34 as TCS (1.09%) and Infosys (0.52%) closed higher while Satyam (1.36%), HCL tech (1.19%) and Wipro (0.23%) closed lower.

BSE Health Care Index closed flat at 3,825.55 as Glaxosmithkline (0.48%) and Ranbaxy (0.26%) closed higher while Dr Reddy (1.27%) and Sun pharma (0.51%) closed lower.

BSE FMCG index decreased by 11.16 points to close at 1,835.66 as Tata tea (4.72%), Dabur (2.52%) and ITC (1.28%) closed in negative .

BSE oil & gas index slipped by 47.76 points to close at 7,937.15 as ONGC (1.78%), Reliance industries (0.40%) and BPCL (0.39%) closed lower
