Mid Market Commentary

The market has lost further points on account of the broad based selling continued across the board. The BSE Sensex has slipped down the 15,00 mark during the day. The Capital Goods, Metal, Oil & Gas and Banks are the badly hitted stocks. The overall market breadth is negative as 539 stocks are advancing while 1849 stocks are declining and 52 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

At 12.31 pm, BSE sensex was at 15,009.12 down by 541.87 points while Nifty was at 4,362.80 down by 166.05 points. The BSE mid cap is lower by 170.55 points at 6,547.53 and small cap dropped by 187.19 points to 7,883.44.

BSE Capital goods index decreased 446.32 points to 12,875.46 as ABB (4.1%), BHEL (3.82%), L&T (3.30%) and Siemens (2.65%) are trading in negative.

BSE Metal index decreased 375.72 points to trade at 11,255.20 as Hindalco (4.12%), Tata Steel (3.96%), SAIL (2.67%) and NALCO (2.30%) are trading in red.

BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 268.48 points lower at 7,862.02 as IPCL (3.74%), GAIL (3.55%), BPCL (3.12%), ONGC (2.95%) and HPCL (2.71%) are trading in negative.

BSE Banks index is trading down by 263.62 points to trade at 7,885.06 as HDFC Bank (4.50%), PNB (3.50%), ICICI Bank (3.13%) and SBI (3.08%) are trading in negative.

BSE Auto index slipped 147.24 points to trade at 4,786.59 as Tata Motors (4.72%), M&M (4.66%), Bajaj Auto (2.38%), Maruti Udyog (2.37%) and Hero Honda (1.63%) are trading in red.

BSE IT index decreased 139.39 points to trade at 4,723.13 as HCL Tech. (5.75%), Wipro (4.43%), TCS (3.72%), Satyam (2.70%) and Infosys (2.28%) are trading in red.

BSE Health Care index fell 73.80 points to trade at 3,644.46 as GSK (3.46%), Cipla (3.14%), Ranbaxy (3.08%), Sun Pharma (2.58%) and Dr. Reddy (1.10%) are trading lower.

BSE FMCG index dropped 39.44 points to trade at 1,933.72 as Dabur (3.81%), HUL (2.90%) and ITC (1.75%) are trading in red.
