Mid Market Commentary

The market is still trading higher but off the day''s high as some profit booking emerged in the selective scrips. The overall market breadth is strong as 1740 stocks are advancing while 683 stocks are declining and 53 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

At 12.31 pm, BSE sensex was at 15,460.03 up by 152.05 points while Nifty was at 4,506.50 up by 44.40 points. The BSE mid cap is higher by 48.29 points at 6,713.96 and small cap advanced by 96.89 points to 8,148.11.

BSE Metal index improved 251.31 points to trade at 11,473.33 as SAIL (4.05%), Tata Steel (3.23%), Hindalco (1.85%) and NALCO (0.38%) are trading in green.

BSE Capital goods index surged 194.71 points to 13,227.37 as BHEL (3.62%), ABB (1.67%), Siemens (1.11%) and L&T (1.04%) are trading in positive.

BSE Banks index is trading up by 141.78 points to trade at 8,218.10 as ICICI Bank (3.28%), HDFC Bank (1.54%), PNB (0.96%) and SBI (0.41%) are trading in positive.

BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 99.01 points higher at 8,147.76 as IPCL (1.89%), GAIL (1.21%), RPL (0.87%) and ONGC (0.68%) are trading higher.

BSE Auto index grew 61.56 points to trade at 4,872.30 as Tata Motors (2.88%), Maruti Udyog (2.75%), Bajaj Auto (1.17%), M&M (1.16%), and Hero Honda (0.15%) are trading in green.

BSE Health Care index increased 36.37 points to trade at 3,707.96 as Cipla (1.08%), Dr. Reddy (0.95%), Ranbaxy (0.79%) and Sun Pharma (0.53%) are trading higher.

BSE IT index increased 29.80 points to trade at 4,838.23 as TCS (1.47%), Wipro (1.47%) and Satyam (1.04%) are trading up while HCL Tech. (0.63%) and Infosys (0.15%) are trading down.

BSE FMCG index improved 5.63 points to trade at 1,959.43 as Dabur (0.14%) and ITC (0.12%) are trading in green while HUL (0.30%) is trading in red.
