Mid Market Commentary

The market is trading lower and remained range bound since the start of the session. The selling of scrips continued in the selective stocks led by Auto, FMCG and Oil& Gas. However the Metal stock are the top performer today. The overall market breadth is strong as 1630 stocks are advancing while 886 stocks are declining and 77 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

At 12.31 pm, BSE sensex was at 14,994.89 down by 22.32 points while Nifty was at 4,366 down by 8 points. The BSE mid cap is higher by 11.87 points at 6,587.04 and small cap advanced by 39.07 points to 8,067.35.

BSE Metal index surged 45.79 points to trade at 11,054.62 as SAIL (0.67%), Hindalco (0.66%) and Tata Steel (0.47%) are trading in green whereas NALCO (0.39%) is trading in red.

BSE Health Care index improved 14.50 points to trade at 3,655.64 as Cipla (1.05%), Ranbaxy (0.80%), Dr. Reddy (0.47%) and GSK (0.41%) are trading higher.

BSE Banks index is trading up by 10.66 points to trade at 7,838.43 as ICICI Bank (0.57%), PNB (0.20%) and SBI (0.19%) are trading higher whereas HDFC Bank (0.26%) is trading lower.

BSE Capital goods index increased 1.31 points to 12,816.70 as L&T (0.41%) and ABB (0.27%) are trading in positive while BHEL (1.46%) and Siemens (0.33%) are trading in negative.

BSE Auto index dropped 18.20 points to trade at 4,807.73 as Tata Motors (1.44%), Maruti Udyog (1.32%), Hero Honda Motors (1.06%) and M&M (0.87%) are trading in negative.

BSE IT index slipped 13.36 points to trade at 4,751.68 as TCS (0.62%), Satyam (0.42%) and Infosys (0.10%) are trading down while HCL Tech. (2.21%) is trading up.

BSE FMCG index fell 10.27 points to trade at 1,921.89 as Dabur (1.92%), HUL (0.98%) and ITC (0.61%) are trading lower.

BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 7.95 points lower at 7,802.86 as IPCL (0.28%) is trading in negative while BPCL (1.25%), HPCL (1.20%), RPL (0.88%) and ONGC (0.47%) are trading in positive.
