Mid Market Commentary

The market after a sparkling start to the session led by positive signals from the global market, now firms up. The strong buying continued across the board. The entire BSE indexes are trading in the positive territory. The overall market breadth is positive as 1974 stocks are advancing while 560 stocks are declining and 51 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

At 12.30 pm, BSE sensex was at 14,459.71 up by 318.19 points while Nifty was at 4,202.70 up by 94.65 points. The BSE mid cap is higher by 98.80 points at 6,358.27 and small cap advanced by 141.85 points to 7,836.65.

BSE Metal index surged 266.30 points to trade at 10,077.91 as Tata Steel (3.12%), SAIL (2.90%), NALCO (2.40%) and Hindalco Industries (1.43%) are trading in green.

BSE Banks index is trading up by 230.97 points to trade at 7,582.34 as ICICI Bank (4.24%), HDFC Bank (3.93%), SBI (2.17%) and PNB (2.08%) are trading higher.

BSE Capital goods index improved 230.89 points to 12,260.79 as BHEL (1.99%), L&T (1.95%), ABB (0.98%) and Siemens (0.67%) are trading in positive.

BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 156.42 points higher at 7,583.57 as HPCL (3.11%), ONGC (2.81%), RPL (2.75%), GAIL (2.69%), BPCL (1.62%) and IPCL (1.43%) are trading in positive.

BSE Auto index advanced 76.22 points to trade at 4,637.07 as Hero Honda (2.88%), Bajaj Auto (2.53%), Maruti Udyog (2.31%), Tata Motors (0.62%) and M&M (0.46%) are trading in green.

BSE Health Care index advanced 53.64 points to trade at 3,540.94 as GSK (3.83%), Sun Pharma (3.10%), Ranbaxy (2.85%), Cipla (0.54%) and Dr. Reddy (0.48%) are trading higher.

BSE IT index increased 53.24 points to trade at 4,553.64 as HCL Tech. (2.66%), Infosys (1.19%), TCS (0.76%), Satyam (0.68%) and Wipro (0.63%) are trading up.

BSE FMCG index grew 34.43 points to trade at 1,846.09 as HUL (1.55%), ITC (1.30%) and Dabur (1.01%) are trading in green.
