Mid Market Commentary

The market is facing a little bit of volatility and trading with marginal gains. The BSE mid cap is higher by 33.35 points at 6,909.09 and small cap advanced by 72.74 points to 8,601.83. The overall market breadth is positive as 1639 stocks are advancing while 898 stocks are declining on BSE.

At 12.30 pm, BSE Sensex was at 15,566.67 up by 23.90 points while Nifty was at 4,507.80 up by 10.75 points.

BSE Metal index surged 149.77 points to trade at 11,921.99 as JSW Steel (2.06%), Sterlite Industries (1.97%), SAIL (1.17%) and Tata Steel (0.85%) are trading higher

BSE Capital goods index improved 72.32 points to 13,786.58 as BHEL (0.31%), L&T (2595%) and ABB (0.08%) are trading up while Siemens (0.16%) is trading down.

BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 52.77 points higher at 8,313.48 as GAIL (1.28%), IPCL (1.03%) and HPCL (0.41%) are trading in positive while BPCL (0.62%) and ONGC (0.24%) are trading in negative.

BSE Auto index grew 34.47 points to trade at 4,901.60 as Bajaj Auto (2.01%), Mahindra & Mahindra (0.57%), Ashok Leyland (0.40%) and Tata Motors (0.29%) are trading in positive

BSE Banks index is trading up by 32.92 points to trade at 8,070.99 as PNB (0.73%), SBI (0.36%) and HDFC Bank (0.11%) are trading in green while IDBI (0.18%) and ICICI Bank (0.02%) are trading in red.

BSE Health Care index increased 7.21 points to trade at 3,711.03 as Sun Pharma (0.10%)and Glenmark Pharmaceutical (0.48%) are trading in green while GSK (0.40%), Cipla (0.37%), Ranbaxy (0.07%) and Dr. Reddy (0.02%) are trading in red.

BSE FMCG index increased 4.33 points to trade at 2,102.38 as Dabur (0.58%) is trading higher while Nestle (0.44%), ITC (0.30%) and Hindustan Unilever (0.02%) are trading lower.

BSE IT index slipped by 3.39 points to trade at 4,467.17 as TCS (0.78%), Satyam (0.46%), HCL Technologies (0.35%) and Infosys (0.16%) are trading down while Wipro (0.66%) is trading up.
