Mid Day Market Commentary

Market is trading in a negative territory on the back of profit booking by investors. Overall market breadth was positive as 1302 stocks advanced and 917 stocks declined on BSE.

At 12.35 pm, BSE sensex was at 13,128.50 down by 49.24 points and Nifty was at 3835.05 down by 8.45 points. BSE Mid cap was up by 23.61 points to trade at 5443.26 and BSE small cap was up by 64.96 points to trade at 6650.33.

BSE capital goods index declined by 31.11 points to trade at 9182.88 as L&T 1.04% and BHEL 0.15% trading in red.

BSE IT index dropped by 82.78 points to trade at 4847.77 as Satyam 3.47% followed by HCL technologies 1.97%, Infosys 1.91%, Wipro 1.44% and TCS 1% trading in red.

BSE auto index was up by 1.19 points to trade at 4685.10 as Tata Motors advanced 2.04% followed by Maruti Udyog 0.42% and Hero Honda Motors 0.17% were trading higher.

BSE Banks index down by 77.49 points to trade at 6503.50; ICICI bank, SBI, OBC, PNB and HDFC Bank were trading lower by 1.6%, 1.55%, 1.36%, 1.01% and 0.4% respectively.

BSE Oil & gas index was trading 9.37 points down at 6486.54 as GAIL 0.63%, Reliance industries 0.57%, IPCL 0.51% and ONGC 0.15% were trading in red.

BSE FMCG index was up by 25.16 points to trade at 1799.20 as HLL up 1.93% and ITC ltd grew 1.8%.

BSE Metal index grew 57.71 points to trade at 8962.72 as Tata steel up 0.72%, SAIL 0.42% and Nalco 0.32% were trading in green.

BSE Health Care index decreased by 5.42 points to trade at 3680.48 as Dr. Reddy''s 1.25%, Cipla ltd 0.93% was trading in negative.
