Mid Day Market commenatry

The market is now trading flat and remain range bound. Some profit booking continued in the selective scrips led by IT, Auto and Bank index. The overall market breadth is positive as 1461 stocks are advancing while 892 stocks are declining and 79 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.

At 12.31 pm, BSE sensex was at 14,467.95 up marginally by 0.59 points while Nifty was at 4,249.85 down by 2.20 points. The BSE mid cap is higher by 16.26 points at 6,389.96 and small cap advanced by 54.05 points to 7,567.17.

BSE Capital goods index inclined 29.51 points to 11,727.54 as Siemens (1.22%), BHEL (0.76%) and L&T (0.52%) are trading in green where as ABB (0.42%) is trading in red.

BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 25.18 points up at 7,619.04 as ONGC (1.43%) is trading higher while BPCL (2.84%), HPCL (2.57%), GAIL (1.31%) and IPCL (0.87%) are trading lower.

BSE Health Care index grew 3.97 points to trade at 3,827.91 as Ranbaxy (0.84%) and GSK (0.32%) are trading in positive whereas Sun Pharma (0.75%), Cipla (0.48%) and Dr. Reddy (0.46%) are trading in negative.

BSE Banks index is trading lower 31.21 points to trade at 7,804.13 as HDFC Bank (0.91%), ICICI Bank (0.52%) and SBI (0.27%) are trading in negative.

BSE IT index fell 19.09 points to trade at 4,839 as HCL Tech. (1.52%), Wipro (0.77%), Infosys (0.72%) and Satyam (0.65%) are trading lower.

BSE Auto index slipped 7.41 points to trade at 4,797.62 as Tata Motors (1.32%), Maruti Udyog (1.05%) and Bajaj auto (0.55%) are trading in red whereas M&M (1.64%) are trading in green.

BSE Metal index declined 2.69 points to trade at 10,742.29 as SAIL (0.75%), Tata Steel (0.67%) and NALCO (0.38%) are trading in negative.

BSE FMCG index dropped 1.69 points to trade at 1,815.99 as Dabur (0.97%) and HLL (0.52%) are trading in red.
