The market has gained some more points and is trading higher as buying of scrips continued across the board. The Capital Goods, Bank and Metal stocks were in demand today. The overall market breadth is positive as 1859 stocks are advancing while 684 stocks are declining and 46 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.
At 12.30 pm, BSE Sensex was at 15,422.70 up by 104.10 points while Nifty was at 4,479.85 up by 15.85 points. The BSE mid cap is higher by 99.73 points at 6,708.15 and small cap advanced by 124.18 points to 8,184.70.
BSE Capital goods index surged 154.73 points to 13,579.47 as BHEL (1.43%), ABB (1.15%) and L&T (1.12%) are trading up whereas Siemens (0.31%) is trading down.
BSE Banks index is trading up by 130.51 points to trade at 7,989.30 as ICICI Bank (2.48%), HDFC Bank (1.45%), SBI (1.25%) and PNB (1.03%) are trading in green.
BSE Metal index improved 103.56 points to trade at 11,669.37 as Hindalco Industries (1.42%), Tata Steel (1.01%) and NALCO (0.39%) are trading higher while SAIL (0.98%) and Sterlite Industries (0.33%) are trading lower.
BSE Health Care index increased 62.88 points to trade at 3,635.70 as Dr. Reddy (3.90%), Cipla (3.59%), Sun Pharma (1.94%) and Ranbaxy (1.53%) are trading in green whereas GSK (0.86%) is trading in red.
BSE FMCG index grew 16.58 points to trade at 1,990.51 as ITC (1.17%), HUL (0.48%) and Dabur (0.15%) are trading higher.
BSE Auto index increased 11.95 points to trade at 4,890 as Maruti Udyog (1.84%) and Hero Honda Motors (0.46%) are trading in green while Bajaj Auto (0.55%) and Tata Motors (0.28%) are trading in red.
BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 9.50 points higher at 8,169.63 as RPL (5.17%), BPCL (0.64%) and GAIL (0.32%) are trading in positive whereas ONGC (1.98%) and IPCL (0.26%) are trading in negative.
BSE IT index advanced by 9.47 points to trade at 4,595.13 as HCL Tech.(0.98%), Satyam (0.45%) and Infosys (0.16%) are trading up while Wipro (0.83%) and TCS (0.66%) are trading down.
